Historic Hike & Walking Tour and Camporee ~ Flyer

Follow the route of the British forces' advance into New Jersey from Elizabeth to it's halt at the Battle of Springfield!

Open to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and members of the public

Join us for the day on a Historic Trail Hike or Walking Tour on Saturday!

Or make it a weekend and camp overnight at Liberty Hall; Camping is for Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts only at this time

Trail routes available for participants of all ages including a 13-mile urban hike or 3-mile walking tour

Local historical agencies and living historians will be on-hand for exclusive access to historic buildings and sites and a live drill ceremony


Rain or Shine!


A special edition Victory Trail and Elizabethtown 350th Annniversary medal and pin combination is available for purchase. The pin affixes to the medal's ribbon and they are designed to be worn together. Victory Trail medals are offered to those who submit completed Victory Trail Booklet questionnaires.


Camping at Liberty Hall is limited to 100 persons; this is offered on a first-come first-served basis.

Pizza is available for dinner for Scouts on Saturday evening for an additional cost.



Check-in & Registration

Opens at 7:45 am Saturday at Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University

All participants will need to be present for check-in at Liberty Hall.

Opening ceremony

8:30 am Saturday at Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University

Closing ceremony

Full drill presentation by living historians of the 3rd New Jersey Regiment, the "Jersey Blues", the 1st member unit of the Brigade of the American Revolution.

6:00 pm Saturday at Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University.


Bus transport will bring participants from Liberty Hall to the trail's start.

Bus transport will then pick up hikers and walkers from each route's finish, at scheduled times, and return the participants to Liberty Hall.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds: Individuals or groups that cancel a program reservation 30 days prior to the date of the event will receive a refund of fees paid, less a 15% administrative charge. No refunds will be made after the 30 day cancellation deadline, unless there is a medical or other emergency.
